Stop giving me notifications for ranks or badges or any of this other crap

I have marked *never* for notifications on badges and ranks in my settings and I'm still getting notifications for them. Which also generates new private messages, which in turn generates emails. I've made like 5 posts here and I've recieved just as many emails about these stupid badges. Please stop spamming my inbox with this crap. The fact that the default behavior is to spam any new user with these emails is absurd, but ignoring my "Never notify me" setting is downright obnoxious.

Hi,

Go to my settings>Email, and tick the box marked don't send me any community emails.

Blah, it's ridiculous this isn't checked by default.

Thanks though, I was confused because every other notification checkbox is an "uncheck to stop receiving" but htis one is reversed. Hopefully these stupid things stop spamming my inbox. I appreciate your response!
