Stream offline playlist from two different devices simultaneously

Stream offline playlist from two different devices simultaneously

I've read somewhere else that it isn't possible to stream music from two different devices at the same time, and that this is also against Spotify's terms of service. Is this correct?

My girlfriend likes to stream music from her phone on the way to work, as do I. I've found that recently if I stream music at the same time as she does, it will pause her music and vice-versa.

I just want a definite answer so I know if I have to purchase two different premium accounts to avoid the music pauses.

Thanks!

Hello jlknepp531 and welcome to this Community!

So, the answer to your question is: Yes.

Since a Spotify user can login to their account from any computer or device (”installation”), the service is programmed to only allow play from on installation at a time. When Spotify is played from another installation, play will be paused on the current installation. It can be started again simply by pressing the Play button.

You can read more about it here:

http://www.spotify.com/us/help/faq/account/#play-has-been-paused

If you and your girlfriend want to sream music at the same time, you will have to purchase 2 different premium accounts.

I hope this helps and thanks for using this forum 🙂
