My Question or Issue

 

Hello, I changed my payment method and my account reverted back from student discount to normal premium. After verifying my student institution for the second time, I am unable to activate it because it either gives me an error or asks for payment method from Brazil, but I am living in Canada right now and I want to use the debit card I have here.

 

I am also unable to change my account location.

Thanks for sharing this here in the Community!

 

To add to what @DanielTham shared, if you’re at an eligible university, you can get Premium Student even if you’re abroad.

 

To do that your account’s country settings will need to match the country of your university.

 

You also need to use a payment method issued in the same country. 

 

With this in mind, if your university is in Canada, you'll first need to update the country registered on your Spotify account to match that using a payment method from the same country.
