So I have been using spotify premium for a year now with the student discount, but I recently got charged $9.99 when it should be $4.99. Do I have to sign up for the student discount again?

When you subscribed to the Student Discount it was for a period of up to 12 months. Once this period ends, you need to activate another Student Discount offer. This way you'll enjoy Premium for up to 12 more months. And to activate it, just head to: spotify.com/student.

It hasn't been 12  months for me, When I signed up they charged me $4.99 and the next month $9.99.
