Student discount not payable through phone plan in Germany?

I wanted to change my regular Premium subscription to the student subscription. I am eligable. Everything worked. But then Spotify wanted me to enter my payment method again. Which is weird  already, because that is saved in my account. But I also want to keep paying through my mobile plan. Does that not work with the student discount?

This is a plan in Germany, provided by Telekom (the spotify subscription is not linked to the Telekom plan, it's just the payment method)

It's only possible to subscribe to the student discount in Germany with a credit card, PayPal or through Klarna.
