Subscribed, but not getting Premium?

If you've paid for Premium but can't use your Premium features (ad-free listening, download music for offline listening, etc.), try the following:

  • Log out and back into your account
Occasionally this is necessary to force a sync of info between your device and our account system

  • Check the status of your subscription
Go to your subscription page and check that your Premium subscription is still active.

  • Check the status of your payment
If your Spotify payment is marked as 'pending' on your bank statement, it might not have gone through successfully. For more information, check out payment troubleshooting.

A pending charge is a part of your bank or credit card company's authorization process. When you submit a payment, your bank or credit card places a temporary authorization on the funds. If the transaction doesn’t successfully complete, no money will be taken and the charge will soon disappear. The time this takes can vary, depending on your bank/credit card company. For more information, contact your bank/credit card company.

  • Check that your Premium subscription isn’t on another account
You might be logged into the wrong account. It's possible to create multiple Spotify accounts, each with their own login details, saved music, and subscription.

Check to see if you have any other accounts

Thanks, it worked 😄

Hello,

I've paid my Premium Subscription for almost a year and just last week after Spotify charged my credit card my Premium-status dissapeared and I'm no longer able to enjoy my music without commerical etc. This is very annoying especially when I can't use Spotify on my iPhone either. I'm expecting more from a service which I pay a monthly fee to use.
Is there something you can do to fix this problem as soon as possible? I don't want to feel like I've wasted money on a service that otherwise have been nothing short of perfect for me.

Thank you in advance and I hope I didn't come of rude.
Vincent

Hi Vincent,

Looking into your account, it looks like your most recent payment didn't go through. Which is why you now have the free service.

What does it say in your overview here?

Who's your Spotify Star?

Did it all, still not premium.

Mine is infact still telling me I'm on the 48 hr trial when I paid for the premium not too long ago

Traef11 - Doesn't look like we've taken payment just yet. You'll be charged when that 48 hour trial is up.

I purchased premium yesterday and it still won't work. I will click on a song then it says go to radio or get premium, so I click on premium and then it says already have it. I have already tried logging in and out

Did you follow step 1 in the original post?

If your subscription page says Premium you will receive the service shortly. It's worth shutting down the app completely and trying again.

Hi - I have a new premium account, but it is not working. Every time I try to play a track on my iPhone, it says I need a premium account. I have tried logging in/out, the clean reinstall, and none of it is working. Can someone please help? Thanks!

Hi - just upgraded to Premium.  It says so on my subscription status.  However, none of my Spotify software reflects that.  And I've logged in/logged out several times.  Also I've uninstalled and reinstalled.  Please help.

On a side note, it seems like a LOT of users have this issue.  It should be a seamless transition and a high priority for y'all.  🙂  Please hire me to fix.

I am having the same issue just upgraded 30mins ago and no access, have check account and done a clean re install

You say to check the subscription page, but I can't find that anywhere. Also, when I first log on, it says to check something under "Preferences," but I cannot find that either. I am certainly not going to pay for Premium when I can't use it. Can you help me?

I am paying £4.99 per month for spotify unlimited but my account profile is showing as spotify free and I keep getting adverts. How do I solve this? I just checked my bank accout and you took the last payment on January 28

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

It sounds like you have accidentally created and logged into a duplicated account. If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form, they should be able to track down your account using your billing details for you.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I upgraded 2 days ago and my iPhone is still telling me I need to get premium to stream. I've tried logging out, please help!

Hi,

I've used the 48 hours trial on my Iphone. Before the end of the trial period (10 hours left) I decided to upgrade to the 30 months trial. Unfortunately I still see the 10 hours countdown in the app.
Based on the forum suggestions I've cancelled the app, restarted the device and then installed spotify again. I logged in with Facebook details but I still see the same message. On my Mac the application is correctly identifying my Spotify Premium status.

WIll I enter the 30 days period as soon as my trial expires or is there something I should do to appropriately set my iphone to the premium subscription?

Thanks for your help

l_patton - Have you tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the app?

cyberciro - It should transition automatically for you. You might need to log out and back in once the trial expires.
