Subscribed, but not getting Premium?


If you've paid for Premium but can't use your Premium features (ad-free listening, download music for offline listening, etc.), try the following:

  • Log out and back into your account
    Occasionally this is necessary to force a sync of info between your device and our account system
  • Check the status of your subscription
    Go to your subscription page and check that your Premium subscription is still active. 
  • Check the status of your payment
    If your Spotify payment is marked as 'pending' on your bank statement, it might not have gone through successfully. For more information, check out payment troubleshooting.

    A pending charge is a part of your bank or credit card company's authorization process. When you submit a payment, your bank or credit card places a temporary authorization on the funds. If the transaction doesn’t successfully complete, no money will be taken and the charge will soon disappear. The time this takes can vary, depending on your bank/credit card company. For more information, contact your bank/credit card company.
  • Check that your Premium subscription isn’t on another account
    You might be logged into the wrong account. It's possible to create multiple Spotify accounts, each with their own login details, saved music, and subscription. 

    Check to see if you have any other accounts

It seems you've made two accounts on our system. The one linked to FB is on a free account which is mostly likely the issue.

Also, while you can sync up to 3 devices for offline use with your Premium, you can only stream online from one at a time. 

did what  you said and - it still states you have to be a Premium Member (which I am) I had no idea this would be such a problem to have this app!

Hi johnnyangel - I can see you upgraded less than an hour ago. Please give it a little bit more time--you'll receive Premium shortly.

I got premium and my account isn't working on my iPod touch. I try to play a song but it brings up a page that says only premium users can stream things on demand.

This just happened to me on my ipad. I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled. Now working. (previously had Unlimited and upgraded to Premium)


Having the same problem. I did all the steps listed and still unable to listen to a specific artist  The message says only premium users can stream. What can I do now?

I've had Spotify for about a week, now and it is always having problems for me logging in, then when I get in, it says it's offline. I've followed the FAQ's things. Uninstalled it, reinstalled it, looked at my firewall and made it an exception. I'm about to give up.

I upgraded to spotify premium a couple of days ago and it works good on my PC but not atcall on my iphone. I reinstalled and log out and in several times. I can only listen to 1 song for about 2 minutes then it stops. PLZ HELP

drpence - You're definitely on Premium. I can see you upgraded the same day you made the post. 


Sometimes it takes a bit for the upgrade to reach all devices. If after 24 hours you're still having trouble let us know. 


Fergus125 - Exactly what error code are you getting? I can move your post to the relevant troubleshooting area. 


AleXIto - I can confirm you upgraded two days ago. Are you signing in with your FB email and password?

On my Iphone I use my e-mail and a password to login on spotify details, and also on my PC. But when I try to login here on the community (wich is on my PC) I cant login on spotify details..

Actually I have been on Pro for several years. However, when I now bought a new cellular, the ZTE Blade III, this device was bundled with 12 months of Spotify Premium via the Swedish operator Telia, So I called off my previous Spotify Premium subscrition and now the "new" subscription via Telia is apparently active.

Since I bought the ZTE with Spotify Premium bundled I find it a bit wierd that Spotify does not even start on this specific device... It works fine on my other devices (PSs,iPod, iPAD, HTC WildfireAndroid cellular.


I was given the tip to install an SD card on the device (there is none at this moment), This would make Spotify work, according to the source. Anyway, I will try it.

K all of that still won't I don't I don't know?

My problem with Spotify on ZTE Blade III is solved. Just needed to add a microSD card to the cellular.
