I have been trying to cancel my account for the last few months but I haven't been able to. My spotify account hasn't been used in a long time. You have a serious flaw in your system - you need to check whether the account is actually active before you take money. I am not paying for something that I do not use. Spotify is a bad service to begin with, none of my playlists saved and/or got deleted on a regular basis. While syncing tracks spotify would just fail (even after recent update) and I would have to start syncing all over again, which completely abused my download limit on my broadband. After trying to contact customer service several times about the difficulties I had with trying to cancel my account I received no reply, not conformation email. I a, very unhappy with your service. I feel like I've been conned. Here's an idea spotify; check whether the person actually USES spotify before you take money for a service that a customer isn't even using. You are a terrible business and I would like my money refunded.
We certainly don't want to customers to feel like they have been unfairly locked in to a subscription that they are not using, or cannot afford. It's bad for business. I'm sorry to hear that you have had trouble cancelling your subscription renewal.
Spotify can help you with this if you contact them directly.
Contact Spotify by using the link below which requires sign in:
http://www.spotify.com/us/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/
From the subject dropdown select "manage subscriptions & trials"
From the second dropdown select "request refund"
In the message box explain your situation.
Hopefully Spotify can fix this quickly.
I have contacted Spotify directly - 3 days ago and still no reply. From reading other posts in the Help Forums this is a common problem with Spotify, they tend not to reply when it concerns getting your money back.
same problem: I had an acct linked to fb and was sure I canceled before my premium trial was up but then checked a week later and they charged me! No response to my email yet but they already sent an automated mail on how customer service was. Really I am not happy at all., at least my acct looks like its on free again so i hope it wont get charged next month but ill doubt they refund my 9.99. service number is 00353537 if any spotify employees actually bother to read this
