Taken money after trying to cancel account MANY times. Refund?

Taken money after trying to cancel account MANY times. Refund?

I have been trying to cancel my account for the last few months but I haven't been able to. My spotify account hasn't been used in a long time. You have a serious flaw in your system - you need to check whether the account is actually active before you take money. I am not paying for something that I do not use. Spotify is a bad service to begin with, none of my playlists saved and/or got deleted on a regular basis. While syncing tracks spotify would just fail (even after recent update) and I would have to start syncing all over again, which completely abused my download limit on my broadband. After trying to contact customer service several times about the difficulties I had with trying to cancel my account I received no reply, not conformation email. I a, very unhappy with your service. I feel like I've been conned. Here's an idea spotify; check whether the person actually USES spotify before you take money for a service that a customer isn't even using. You are a terrible business and I would like my money refunded.

Same here. And because they keep trying to withdraw money, it keeps resulting in overdraft fees for me, $35 each time. This has happened three times, resulting in $105 in overdraft fees and an unwarranted $9.99 taken out. I'm a college student who desperately needs this money, and it's frustrating to watch it be sapped like this.

We certainly don't want to customers to feel like they have been unfairly locked in to a subscription that they are not using, or cannot afford. It's bad for business. I'm sorry to hear that you have had trouble cancelling your subscription renewal.

Please try visiting your subscription page, and following the subscription cancellation process, under "Manage your subscription". Once you have cancelled your subscription, you can go back to your subscription page, and to confirm that your renewal has been cancelled, and when your current subscription expires.

You cancelled your subscription on July 16th. The subscription will expire on August 4th.

I am concerned about this. After the 30 day free trial, Spotify has only taken one payment, for one month's subscription.

It has tried to take the money from my account more than once, though, resulting in three overdraft fees: on July 6th, July 13th, and August 3rd. I tried to cancel the subscription before July 16th, during the free trial, but I guess the site didn't register it or something. So now I'm out $105 from overdraft fees alone that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Spotify can help you with this if you contact them directly.

Contact Spotify by using the link below which requires sign in:

http://www.spotify.com/us/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/

From the subject dropdown select "manage subscriptions & trials"

From the second dropdown select "request refund"

In the message box explain your situation.

Hopefully Spotify can fix this quickly. Smiley Happy

I have contacted Spotify directly - 3 days ago and still no reply. From reading other posts in the Help Forums this is a common problem  with Spotify, they tend not to reply when it concerns getting your money back.

same problem: I had an acct linked to fb and was sure I canceled before my premium trial was up but then checked a week later and they charged me! No response to my email yet but they already sent an automated mail on how customer service was. Really I am not happy at all., at least my acct looks like its on free again so i hope it wont get charged next month but ill doubt they refund my 9.99. service number is 00353537 if any spotify employees actually bother to read this
