Spotify Case # 01664797:

I have a Spotify account, my friend used my computer to create his own profile while I was still loged in to Facebook. Now when I log in to Spotify it is showing my name in the top right corner, but it is not my Spotify account, it has none of my playlists or any friends. When I click on my name in the right hand corner and go to 'profile' all the details are his. I can see my account still exists, by looking through people I know accounts. My User number is 1239410662. I emailed support, but i just got back the automated response. Also, I emailed them through the dodgy account, so I have no idea if they understood its not my 'real' account.

 

I have looked through these boards and tried a heap of the things they reccomend. But to no avail.  Can this be untangled, I really would like all my playlists back.

Hi ShellCat,

 

Please logout of the Spotify application and the Community and then follow the steps that I have sent to your email case.  We should be able to get you back into your account soon.

A little problem, I could only sign up to this community through my dodgy Spotify account which has [email removed - mod edit] as my email. That is my friends. My email is [email removed - mod edit].

That is why I need you to log out 🙂  This would prevent the FB profile from reattaching to the other account.

 

I have sent the support mail,  you should be able to relink to your old account now.

Just one more little thing...now that I am logged in as the real me, I can't go back and delete email details from the above posts, can you?

Unfortunately, I am just a 'staff' member and dont work on the Community as my job role (I just dip into help with account cases).  I will ask a moderator to edit out those mails for you.

On reflection, I was silly head to post then log out before i deleted.
