Temporarily cancel subscription?

Is it possible to temporarily cancel a Spotify subscription?  I am currently a Premium Spotify user and need to save

some money right now but don't want to get rid of my profile.

Sure, you can downgrade to a free account and just resume your subscription whenever you'd like. You'll still have all your playlists and be able to listen (ad supported) everywhere you do now. The main difference is you won't be able to save tracks for offline, and on the phone you'll be limited to shuffle play. 

Just use this link, and look for the option to cancel your subscription. Don't worry...it won't delete your profile at all.

Is the subscription prorated if you temporarily suspend it? Or can you only suspend and activate for a full month at a time? Thanks.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to put a membership on hold. Although you can cancel your current subscription and resubscribe at any time. When you cancel your current subscription, you still get to keep your remaining days, you just won't be billed when those days expire.
