Tracks won't play

Tracks won't play

About a week ago my desktop (Windows) installed Spotify started saying that it could play certain tracks; it's affecting my playlist and albums.  Sometimes it's certain tracks on an album, other times the whole album will not playing saying 'can't play the current track' on every track.

This is an intermittent problem and tracks that said 'can't play the current track' will play later.  These are tracks that I'm streaming and when the problem occurs, there are no problems with my internet connection.

Any ideas what the problem might be? – I’ve got a premium account.

Thanks in advance.

Hey @edusf03! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

That sounds not good.

Do you've tried to reinstall your client ? If not, here's a tutorial for a clean reinstallation.

This may solve your issue. ^^

Peace

Thanks for the advice but re-installing it hasn't sorted out the problem 😞

I am having the same kind of problem.  I am a premium user, with high quality streaming selected.

Kurt Vile's new album will not play in my spotify app on my pc, but all other music will play fine.

I am able to listen to it from my phone, however.

I have re-installed but it did not fix the problem.

I'm having a similar problem, only now I can't even log in to Spotify:  The login screen starts then ignores my clicks.

I've restarted my Windows7Pro and re-installed Spotify.

the problem is gettng worse now and there's loads of tracks that give me the message 'Can't play the current track'  It really feels that I'm just wasting my money by paying a subscribtion fee when I can't listen to the music that I want to.  Quite a few friends who have Spotify say they have the same problem as me.

Poor show Spotify.

It gets better - I now get messages saying that tracks are not available to play, even though I played them last week.

The message also says that I can play the track if I have it locally ie my own copy.  So, I pay Spotify a monthly fee and they want me to provide/buy my own copy the music that I want to play.  Not the best business model I've ever heard of, well actually it is Spotify, you're ripping people off, we pay our subscription fee and your not having to providing the goods - genius!!!!
