Transitioning to Family Plan

I was wondering if anyone could answer a question I was having regarding transitioning to a Family Plan.  Currently my wife and I both pay for our own Premium Subscriptions at $9.99/account.  I would like to end up with us paying $15/month on a single Family Plan, using my current account if possible.  

Do I just have my wife cancel her premium subscription, purchase the Family Plan on my acccount, and then give her the activation/redemption code?  Are there any hoops I have to jump through / 'gotchas' to watch out for given her account is currently a Premium?

I have the same question.  My son, daughter and I all have separate premium accounts, and when I started setting up the family plan, it says, "Invite up to 4 members to your Spotify Family.  Please make sure they're not already Premium subscribers and that everyone resides at the same physical address."  If your answer is that we all need to cancel and start over, then what happens to all the things we set up like playlists, songs saved to devices to play offline, etc.?
