Two email addresses, only one username, and not allowing changes

My I-Mac doesn't support the old version of Spotify, so I had to download the new version. In doing so, the account asked me to login. I attempted to use my email address, and it said that my email was invalid. I attempted to reset my password, and it said I was a Facebook user, and that I would have to login using Facebook and reset my Facebook password. Spotify allowed me to login using Facebook, but in accessing my account, the email address is wrong (i.e. not the email I use for Facebook or anything else). I went to change it, and it says my email address has already been taken, which seems obvious because it's my Facebook email address, but Spotify will not allow me to update my email address. Please help.

Hi @thatbrittcray thanks for posting in the Spotify Community! 

It sounds like a duplicate account may have been created here when you've tried to login with facebook, which is why you'll not be able to add the old email address and why all the details are wrong. Are your playlists on that account? I'd have thought not but let me know if that's not correct. 

Try logging in with the username part of your email address, for example, Bearfootrecords@gmail.com would become Bearfootrecords. It doesn't always work but may help you get in. If you're a premium user you'll be able to find your username on any Spotify receipt too, a free user may be able to find it on other emails from Spotify.

If after this you still can't get into your account then try contacting Spotify Cares through this anonymous contact form (it won't need any user ID), their facebook or twitter.
