Two spotify accounts on one email account

Two spotify accounts on one email account

Recently signed up but it seems I have two accounts on the same email, with two different passwords (the password for the computer account doesn't work for my iphone app account and vice versa). Started a free trial few weeks ago and now it has expired on my iphone app but still have around 2 weeks left on my account when accessing via computer and will be charged when it expires. 

 

Why do I have two spotify accounts on just one email account?

Hey,

 

Let's see what we can do about this. Here's what probably happened: You first made a spotify account with Facebook, with your Facebook account linked to your email. Then, later on, you made a Spotify account linked only to your email (not Facebook). This would result in two accounts on the same email adress. How annoying. Luckily, it's easy enough to solve.

 

First, let's try to merge your accounts. Go to the account that is not connected to Facebook.

For the Desktop version:

  1. Click on the arrow next to your username.
  2. Go to Settings 
  3. Scroll down to Connect to Facebook
  4. Add your Facebook account

 

If it's the account on your iPhone:

  1. Go to Your Library
  2. Click on the little cog in the topright corner
  3. Go to Social
  4. Tap Connect to Facebook
  5. Add your Facebook account

 

If this doesn't work, you should delete one of your accounts.

I am pretty sure I didn't connect via Facebook, always avoid facebook connection.

It seems like the app has a special account. I can go to the web browser on my phone and access spotify using the password I used on my computer but when using the password from my app it says it is a wrong password. I can't delete my account on the app, the one I would like to delete. To delete an account I need to access spotify via browser (not the app) and then I cant access my app account. 

Okay, that's weird. Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the app and logging in with your desktop password?

Yes I tried that but didn't work. I decided to quit the subscription (on the account I wanted to keep but was the only thing I could do) and could then send the Spotify team an email to help and they did. Now the problem is solved.
