US student discount

I'm currently paying $10 for Spotify Premium and just saw the 50% discount for students y'all are now offering. How do I change my subscription to the student discount? I just paid another $10 March 23 for the month. Do I just wait till April 22, cancel my subscription then pick it back up under the $5 student account? Or is there a way for me to drop my subscription and pick up a new one without paying for this month again?

I currently have a paid Spotify subscription. How do I change to the Spotify Premium U.S. Student Discount?

Simply register for the discount here, and it will be applied on the next renewal date of your current subscription. The renewal date is in your subscription status.

You DO NOT need to cancel your subscription.

All you have to do is sign up for the discount and you will only pay $5 starting the next renewal date.

Hmm...this doesn't seem to work. It keeps re-directing me to my account settings page and offering Premium for $9.99 /month

I suggest you contact support so they can take a look at your account and help you with this:

If you get an automated reply email, you need to reply back to it.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

I'm having the same issue - did you find a solution to this djbtref? Will it work if I just wait till the end of my month, cancel, and re-sign-up for the student service?

No, I was never able to find a solution 😞 I ended up just starting a new account with my second email account. It was a pain to re sync all my albums but it was worth the discount I guess. Good luck!
