Unable to Update Country

I am a premium user - When I try to update my country in the 'update payment method' the checkout fails and redirects me to

 

https://www.spotify.com/uk/premium/?checkout-offer=default-full-price-premium&checkout-error=true&re...

 

There are errors in the inspect console - Impact: unable to update billing country to update my plan.

Hey @Mrac,

 

Thanks for getting back.

 

The pricing can vary between countries/regions, so I can't guarantee that you'll pay the same amount of money after changing your country setting.

 

As mentioned in the support article, you keep your playlists and saved music when your account is free. You can also still log in and play with ads and since you'll be using the same existing account in the future, you'll also keep your listening history 🙂

Hey @Mrac,

 

Thanks for reaching out.

 

In this case, you'll need to cancel your current subscription and wait for it to end. Once it has ended, you can change your country setting through the dropdown menu here.

 

Once that's done, you can subscribe to your desired plan using your payment method that's been issued in the country you're currently in at https://spotify.com/premium.

 

Instructions on how to cancel and how that affects your account can be found at https://support.spotify.com/article/cancel-premium/.

Thanks Maxim! super kind of you to help! will the expiry impact the pricing of my plan or my listening history?  It's interesting they offer on screen to change country but it causes their checkout to error 🤔
