Hi!
I've been struggling with editing my settings as far as sharing from Spotify on my Facebook timeline. I accidentally revoked its ability to post about playlists instead of blocking an individual story about an individual playlist. I tried to revoke publishing rights all together in the hopes that I could restore them at their default settings, but I have been unable to restore them at all and no Spotify information is published. Help? I'm terrible at things like this, so thank you!

So, you saying that you completely revoke Spotify's permisions on facebook?
Wow something new, I don't even know how to fix this but I have done alittle reshearch on how to fix by braking my facebook alot :).
Well to fix it's pretty easy sign out of spotify and sign into facebook.
Then go into Privacy settings and you should get a page like below:
Go into Ads, Apps and websites and remove Spotify (Note do not remove app activity unless you want to).
Then log back into Spotify and it will ask you for permission to post like in the image below.
Thanks hope this helps.
Liam
Thank you for the response!
I tried those steps and got no reaction, though.
It seems that Facebook saves one's preferences for an app even through removing it and reapplying, logging out, etc. I've had no luck with any combination of fiddling with the settings under the activity log or even reinstalling spotify all together.
But thank you!
hmm, Facebook is one strange thing with settings, I will try to find a other way, unless someone else beats me before I do :).
Sorry my first solution did not help you.
Thanks
Liam
I appreciate it!
I just find it odd that there is no easy way to revise my preferences for an app's access to my timeline; if I could impose my will at one point, it seems intuitive that I should be able to do it again. Ah well, it's not the worst thing in the world, just sad not to be able to share with friends and such. Again, thank you!
Have you by any chance got Post to Facebook turned off, it's alittle button under your name and avatar in Sptoify and above the spotify social pannel?
Also check your Prefenerces as well in Edit, Preferences make sure everything looks right there.
I'm not sure what button you mean, but I have this checked, if it's the same thing:
Hmm, What version of Spotify are you using, Pretty sure this is an old version do you have the button below:
I have version 0.8.3.222.g317ab79d as you can see I don't have the check box Show what I listen to on facebook but I have I button instead saying Post to Facebook. To me it all looks fine on your Spotify but I have a feeling if you if you update Spotify it might work.
Oh maybe I am outdated, I am not sure.
Also to find out what version you have go into Help and then About.
Edit: I have just updated to the latest version 0.8.4.93.gd.9f.49c35 But it's still the same as the image above, it looks like you may have an outdated version of Spotify.
Thanks
Liam
Hi again!
I too have 0.8.4.93.gd.9f.49c35 and seem to be up to date. In fact, I uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify (from the prompt Get Spotify via the Facebook app) last night, so I should be good, but it was a good idea and I was hoping it'd be the answer. I suspect this is on Facebook's end, as their settings are finicky.
Hmm, I am beat, I just do not know what you can do, If a staff member does not reply within 24 hours then I will alert one for you.
I honestly do not know what you could do, but If I find anything out I will for sure share it with you :).
Thanks
Liam
