Unable to add account to Family Plan

Unable to add account to Family Plan

I upgraded my account to the Family plan, and went to migrate my wife's account into the new Family thing.

 

I opened the redemption link on her laptop and tried to link them together, but I got the following error:

 

> We couldn't add you to Premium for Family as your account needs to be based in the same country as the owner of the Premium for Family subscription.

 

I checked the country setting via https://www.spotify.com/au/account/profile/ on both of our accounts, and they both say Australia.

 

Can someone from Spotify please assist.

Has your wife paid earlier for a Premium subscription?

 

Her account has to be Free for her to accept the invite.

She can delete her payment info by doing this:

 

1. Go to her Subscription and payment overview --> http://spotify.com/account/subscription/

2. Click UPDATE DETAILS. If it shows below 'Would you like to cancel your subscription?' click there and cancel.

3. Check the box to 'Remove', and click 'Change' button,

 
Note: If you have your Premium active you won't be able to remove your payment info. That's why it's important to cancel before clicking UPDATE DETAILS.
 
Now, double check that her country in her profile page matches yours, and try inviting her again.
