My Question or Issue

I am unable to link my Facebook account to my Spotify. I've tried both via the phone app and the desktop app. In both cases it "looks" successful, but I am unable to search friends (get error: Sorry, we couldn't load friends to follow.). If I logout and log back in, social settings show Facebook as disconnected. I've verified I've opted in to sharing my Facebook data in my Spotify privacy settings. I've also verified I'm sharing everything with Spotify in my Facebook app settings (note that Spotify does appear in app linkages for my Facebook account).

I've tried resetting and retrying all of the above steps without success.

I would suggest the following steps:

 

  1. Disconnect your Facebook account in the Spotify app again
  2. Then on desktop, head to www.facebook.com/settings
  3. Select Apps and websites in the left hand column
  4. Find Spotify and click View and edit. Tip: If you don't see it, check the Expired tab
  5. The Spotify app settings pop up. Select Remove App at the bottom of this pop up, then Remove to confirm
  6. Go back to the Spotify app and link the accounts again
