My Question or Issue

My ex is abusing the established connection they have to my sound system. They are waking my and the neighbours up at 2 or 3 am by playing loud obnoxious music on full blast. I have tried resetting my sound system (Sony ZF-HT9) but it seems that once a connection is established to the device through Spptify it's impossible to remove unless the user chooses to forget the device. They did have access to the same network and device in the past, however they no longer have access to the same WiFi network since we broke up. I don't want to disable or disconnect my sound system, as I still use it.

I feel quite annoyed and let down, that I am unable to stop this from my end. I keep getting complaints from the neighbours and they don't even believe that it is my ex playing this music 200 miles away. Is there an option is deregister my own home network devices from other spotofy accounts? As this is a clear security issue.

Hey there @Pegasul9,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to check, did you both link your Spotify accounts via the manufacturer's (Sony) app? If so, it's possible that you might be able to remove & unlike their account from there or via Music Center (depending on the exact version you're using).

You can also select Sign out everywhere on your account page, and for extra safety reset your password, just to make sure you're the only one with access to your Spotify account.

Another option, shouldn't the above steps do the trick, is to do a factory reset of the Sony speaker(s), as this should remove any previous connections. You can find the steps on how to do it on this page from Sony.

Hope this helps! Let us know if anything else appears.
