Unable to use Spotify in Japan

I used to live in States, but I live Japan now. I deleted my old account that I was using in States and made a new one. However, the new account just stopped working and it says "you have an hour of free listening remaining. Enjoy 15 hours of free listening each month or upgrade to Premium for unlimited listening."

This is very strange to me because I never paid for Spotify Premium before and I did not have any problem like this in States. Is this happening because I am in Japan now? It has never happened to me before when i was living in U.S.

Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community.

 

This is expected behaviour for the app in Japan. You are limited to 15 hours of listening on all devices, except mobile phone, every 30 days. You will receive an error message when the limit is reached.

 

If you'd like to listen to music more than 15 hours every month, you can upgrade to Premium at https://spotify.com/premium. 🙂
