Unknown Device-bug still not fixed

Unknown Device-bug still not fixed

Occasionally when listening to music, the music stops or changes to something completely different. When I then check the Spotify-Client, I notice that the music is playing on a different device (I've had IPhones, Samsung Galaxy S3, S5, S6s!). When this first happened, I hurried to change my Facebook password (since I am one of the unfortunate users that signed up via Facebook back when this was the only option), email password and added two factor authentication to both of them. After that I disconnected all devices via the Spotify webpage and for that day the issue was solved. However today it happened again. No request for Facebook two factor authentication, so I am guessing that the problem is not on my end, but on Spotifys. Upon searching this forum I found several other threads, some really old ones, suggesting this has been a problem since 2014(!). I however did not find any statement from Spotify, agreeing that this is a bug and is being investigated, or a solution that lasts longer than one day.

Hey @user-removed!

It's really not cool that this happens. It's possible that the device appearing is using your same network. We'd recommend you updating your WiFi password too. Let us know if it makes any difference.

Take care!

Hi @Fabian_SB,

I understand that devices appearing in the devices list might be on the same network, but I don't understand someone changing my songs in the middle of them playing to something else. Also I don't understand unknown playlists appearing on my account, which I noticed today for the first time (yay?).
