Today after the press conference the website got updated and Unlimited is now no longer an option for new users. You have Free and you have Premium as your choices for a subscription. I myself am currently a Spotify Unlimited user since I use Spotify on my computer exclusively.
First things first, what will happen to my current Unlimited subscription?
Secondly, out of curiosity I tried to log on to Spotify on my cell phone (Android) and try the new Shuffle feature available for Free users. What happened was that, even if I could log in, I couldn't actually play anything. The "Shuffle Play" button wasn't even present and when I tried to press Radio I was confronted with a message saying I need to upgrade to Premium to use that feature.
Shouldn't Unlimited users at least be able to use the mobile version in the same manner as Free users?
I'm confused...
Solved! Go to Solution.
I used to be a unlimted subscriber, but canceld the subscribtion because of the new free account limits.
Because of the commercials I would like to resub the unlimited again, but saw to my suprise it is removed.
I am not interested in paying €10 a month to be able to download the music because I never use that anyways.
€5 a month was a good price for the unlimited account.
Hope Spotify will listen to their users and reenstate the unlimited account.
Would be nice to drop the commercials for that price and unlimited skips in the playlist.

Thanx, it worked I think.
Strange thing was that it first said my unlimited account will be changed into a premium account, but when I check the subscribtion detail it is not mentioned there.
Just have to wait and see then I guess.

So now, without playing limitations in the Free version:
Mobile version: Difference between Free and Unlimited = None? (... or is it more)
PC version: Difference between Free and Unlimited = Ads? (... or is it more)
I started paying for Unlimited only because Free had limitations in playtime (and I listen several hours a day at work). But when Free has gone unlimited when it comes to playing, 49SEK/month seems a little bit too steep if they don't do more than getting rid of ads.
Am I missing something that might make Unlimited worth the money?

... and a great comparison too. Confirmed what I suspected.
To me 14+ days abroad doesn't count as something extra so if no ads will be the only difference, Unlimited is not worth the money anymore. A single paying maybe (like most other software with ads), but certainly not a monthly cost. I don't love ads, but I'm not allergic either. LOL
Thank you very much!! This will save me some paying for nothing.
Hello Rorey,
You said "Should you unsubscribe for any reason, you can sign up for Unlimited from your subscription page on our website."
About one week ago, I upgraded to Premium from Unlimited. It said I had 30 days to cancel. Now I want to go back to Unlimited. My subscription page on the website doesn't give any option to move to Unlimited. It looks like the only choices now are Free or Premium. How can I go back to Unlimited?
Let your subscription run out then you will be able to subscribe to unlimited from here.
I recently upgraded from Unlimited to Premium, and now want to switch back, but can't find the option to do so anywhere. How do I do this?
Thanks.
If it doesn't appear as an option when you go to the subscription page, you may be able to subscribe here after cancelling your premium subscription.
I have had unlimited subscription for years and now i had a problem with the credit card and i could not go on with my unlimited subscription, i cant find the option! i cant afford premium subscription, its double price than unlimited, like here the price of canal + and so and i dont use most of the features. How can i go back to my unlimited subscription? i cant find the option and i cant find the way to ask to the company or to make a complaint, where is customer service? i cant find the way to complaint to customer service.
Thnxs

I upgraded to Premium for a few months as I was travelling and wouldn't have access to the internet... but now I'm suddenly not able to switch back to Unlimited?! That's outrageous. I've just started studying again and I don't have the funds to pay for Premium. I would happily get Unlimited as it has always offered me exactly what I needed, and Free is a nightmare. I would really appreciate re-gaining access to Unlimited, especially as it seems it still exists but Spotify is just being selective about who can have it. Not a very inclusive strategy Spotify.
The unlimited plan has been discontinued for a few years now. It is only being offered to people who haven't yet canceled the plan.

Hi,
I had the Unlimited subscription for years. I wanted to try Premium to see what features it currently has, so I upgraded. However, I want to go back to my original subscription, but it seems impossible??! Or is there a way?
Thx for help!
