Unlink Spotify from Deactivated Facebook

My Problem

Stupidly, I signed up for Spotify back a few years via my facebook credentials (which I will always regret). I deactivated my Facebook account about 3 years ago, which was associated with my primary and desired email address. Now, when I try to log in to spotify using that email address it turns my Facebook back on (Very Annoying). 

Hopeful Solution

Basically, I would like to create a new user account with the email that was used on my Facebook, or somehow separate them so that it stops reactivating my Facebook account every time I log in. 

What I've Tried

I have researched this, and I have tried the following:

• I don't have an "unlink from Facebook" option in my Spotify settings
• I have tried completely changing and removing my primary email from the Facebook account, but Spotify still won't let me use that email address to sign up for a new account. 
• Tried contacting Spotify support and got little to no responses. 

Conclusion

I do NOT accept the "there is no solution for this problem" answer. I work in IT, and I know that this has to be possible, and I imagine that I will just have to turn over enough stones. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have this exact same problem. I'm currently paying premium on am alternate account setup with an undesired email address.
Come on Spotify people. There must be a way.
How can we get this question to technical support, rather than a public forum.?

I have the same problem.  Did you find a solution?  I wasnt to deactivate my Facebook but then I lose Spotify.  I also pay for premium service.

hey, if people are still having this issue, i had it too and found a good workaround.

This, as far as i know, only works when your desired email is through gmail:

Create a new spotify account with your desired gmail that is currently blocked by being tied to some stupid old facebook account, EXCEPT:

change the address by adding or removing a "." (period) from the address.

This is a special feature of gmail, where any version of your email with any number of periods added or removed is still sent to your inbox (I think you can filter based on the sent version, but that's not important for this)

I just did this and got the welcome to spotify email in my inbox. Hope this helps any more lost souls who left FB years ago and will never go back.
