Updating payment method for premium

Updating payment method for premium

I am trying to update my CC information, but it forces me to go through a student verififcation process. I am no longer a student, so it fails. Then, when I try to re-subscribe to premium, it only offers a family plan. So how do I:

1) update a payment method without going through student verification

or

2) re-subscribe to premium

Hey @amexist,

Since it seems you're still in a student subscription, you would have to delete your payment info first:

1. Go to your Subscription page.

2. Click UPDATE DETAILS. If it shows below 'Would you like to cancel your subscription?' click there and cancel.

3. Check the box to 'Remove', and click 'Change' button,

Note: If you have your Premium active you won't be able to remove your payment info. That's why it's important to cancel before clicking UPDATE DETAILS.

After you've removed your payment info, resubscribe to Premium with the new card info to ensure that your offline music won't be deleted and that your subscription will renew correctly when it's time.

Hope it helps. 🙂

Hi @osornios,

@amexist

Did you get an email receipt from Spotify for each subscription charge?

If you didn't get email receipts, sometimes the amount gets 'on hold' even if the charge doesn't go through. Normally the amount gets back to your bank account a day or two later.

In any case, you should contact customer support through this contact form. They'll help you sort things out. They take, at the most, 24 hrs to get back to you. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.
