Upgrade to Spotify Family

Hi,

I want to upgrade to Spotify Family. My daughter and wife use Spotify Free and have a number of playlists.

When I invite them to start using Spotify Premium on Spotify Family will they be able to keep their exiting playlists they have on Spotify Free.

Thanks

Hey there @cosmicteapot! Welcome to the community!

Your daughter and wife will both be able to keep their existing playlists, since each family member has their own account. The only change will be that they'll receive the upgrade to premium, nothing else. Recommendations, followers... They're all independent from one another!

No worries, I'll move this to the correct area of the community (Help - Accounts and Subscriptions) for you ๐Ÿ˜‰

They should be good to go, all you need to do is invite their existing accounts and all of their content will be there waiting for them.

I tried upgrading my man's subscritption to family but couldn't because he'd just signed up for a free premium subscription.  We NEED to be on the family plan, why isn't his code redeemable?  He's now back on a free subscription but not until the free premium period ends.  Will we be able to upgrade at that point?  He only has the one email address, if we cancel and then re-join will it work?  What's the deal with this anyway?

Is there more info on this?

I'm in a similar situation...

Yes, you will be able to keep your playlists if that is what you are asking.
