User name on device login

User name on device login

I recently deactivated my Facebook account (which is how I first signed up for Spotify) so I am using the device login to access my Spotify account. To my friends list, my account shows up as the ten digit login number (instead of my name). Is there any way I can change it so my name appears instead?

Hey @_jjaz

If you created your Spotify account using your Facebook account, your username in the system is a bunch of random numbers.

Now that you have deactivated Facebook, it will create problems when you try to login to your account. It also means your username is now stuck being a bunch of random numbers. When your Facebook was active, it would show your name instead of the numbers. There is no way to change the username unless you reactivate your Facebook account and it will show your name instead.

Your other option is you can contact support so they can help you transfer all your stuff to a non-Facebook Spotify account that uses a username and password to login. You will be able to pick your own username that isn't a bunch of random numbers. You will need to create a new Spotify account that uses a username, and include that username with the description of your problem when you are contacting support.
