Username i chose when signing up isn't the one being used/shown on my account

On the sign up, i chose my username and it shows up on the webplayer but if i go to my account to change settings it shows a random string of letters and numbers as my username and when trying to log in i can't use my username and have to user my email address (probably expecting the random string of letters and numbers). When i went to delete the account to remake it to have my username what i use everywhere it gives a warning the username will not be usable again and the next page confirming it then shows the username i chose and not the random one my account pages shows. Is my username being shown in the webplayer my actual username (the one that shows also when going to delete the account) or the random gibberish and if it's the gibberish anyway to change it to the one i actually typed in?

I have the exact same problem.  Is there anyone in this company that answers these questions, or are we left alone for dead?
