Username random collection of characters

Hi, I've tried to signup twice now and both times my username has reverted to a random selection on letter and numbers. Each time I entered a different user name when registering. I don't hvae a facebook account or anything so don't want a linked account but would also like to be able to set the user name. Wondeirng if the usernames I'm entering are too long, need to contain certain characters, or are already in use? But there is no warning if this is the case....

Hey @Tawkin and welcome to the community!

I think this is how the username system of Spotify works at the moment.

You will get a random username but you should be able to choose a name other users will see.
