Waiting on new debit card; Failed payment.

Does anyone know how long Spotify will keep premium once payment fails to go through? Also, if premium expires, will the student discount still work when I am able to pay again?

Backstory: 

Recently I lost my debit card and had to cancel the card. Because I go to school out of state where my bank is not located, they're sending a new card to my residential home, which will then send it to my school address (will probably take about 5-6 more days).

You can login to the website to check the status of your subscription here:

https://www.spotify.com/account/subscription/

In there you'll know until when you will have Premium status. Once that date comes, you'll revert back to Free, so when your new card arrives, just update your payment info, and reapply for the Student Premium.
