I recently purchased a spotify card but when trying to redeem I get the following error code 'We are currently not able to redeem this code' which doesnt seem to be explained on the FAQs and seems to be a similar (but different!) problem to some others on the forum re not being able to upgrade accounts and errors about premium being unavailable. It lets me enter it and get to the page where I am given the 3 choices of premium, unlimited and downloads so it's not that I am entering it incorrectly...
I currently have unlimited (also paid for with a redeem code) but now I have an iphone I want to upgrade to premium for a month to try it out. I don't want to set up an account and pay by card, hence the reason for buying a card.
Please help!
My Father is in exactly this situation, but with about 40days unlimited to run.
Is there a way around it ?

Actually, you don't have to wait until your Unlimited subscription is over. Instead, you can upgrade from Unlimited to Premium first, then redeem the code on your account.
You can upgrade from your subscription page.
If you have, say, 6 days remaining on your Unlimited subscription when you do this, it will be converted to 3 days of Premium.
If you want your account to return to Unlimited after the code is used up, downgrade to Unlimited after redeeming the code. The downgrade will not occur until the code's subscription time is used up.
Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, I think the issue still arises because if you solely redeem spotify cards to pay your account, then you can't upgrade to premium (the website says "you have no registered payment method" when you try to upgrade i.e. you have not registered credit card or paypal).
You can redeem a card as premium though so long as you are on FREE (ie wait for the subscription to end).
I have entered 3 cards which i have had since christmas and they all say the card you have entered has already been used but i just scrathed them off? do they expire and why am i getting ripped off$?
Gift cards are only valid for 12 months after they where activated at point of sale as stated in the gift card terms and conditions.
If you get in touch with the support team via email here they will be able to check the codes out for you.

I have 6 gift cards. 4 of them worked without any problem but for 2 I get "We are currently not able to redeem this code".

I think there might be a limit on how many you can redeem in one day/month @pogi although I am not certain.
If you could get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to check them out for you.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.
