If your Spotify account is currently activated in a different country than the US and you've paid with a matching payment method, you won't be able to change it to a different country.

Furthermore, Gift Cards are redeemable in the same country they were bought.

As your app and most devices work on location services, it will recognize and prevent it from passing through as a valid method.

Tip: i do not recommend switching your country settings unless you have officially moved there.
