When I Cancel my Premium Account

When I Cancel my Premium Account

Plan: Premium

Country: Canada

Device: iPhone Xr

Operating System:  iOS 10

My Question or Issue

My premium account just renewed on 29 May.  I am planning to cancel my premium account and revert back to the free version for now.

Since I've paid on the 29th, if i cancel today does it take effect immediately and revert to a free account or does the money I paid get to run out until 29 June?

If it reverts immediately do I get a prorated refund on the days not used?

Thanks!

Hey @nickboykojr, I'm here to help you!

Great question.

When you cancel your Premium subscription, you won't be charged on your next billing date - and you'll be able to use Premium until that date (so it won't revert to free immediately). After that date, you'll be reverted to the free ad-supported version of Spotify.

In your case, since you've already renewed your subscription on 5/29/19, if you cancel it today - you'll still have access to Premium until 6/29/19, and then you'll revert to the free service. No worries, you won't be wasting any money and you won't be charged on your next billing date when you cancel.

There is also some additional information on canceling your Premium subscription here.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions 🙂

if i bought premium and cancel it after 30 minutes do i get my money back

Hey @joachi, thanks for reaching out!

Once you cancel your Premium subscription, it will take effect on your next billing date. This means that you will have access to your Premium until that date.

For more information on getting a refund, check out this support article.

Hope this helps. If you need further help, just let me know. I’d be happy to take a look!
