When will Spotify make Artist Corrections

When will Spotify make Artist Corrections

I have suggested now multiple corrections to their artist listings and they never seem to make the corrections:

For Instance:

Slaughter and the Dogs is listed under Slaughter & The Dogs, Slaughter And The Dogs, and Slaughter House & The Dogs

The Go-Go's are listed under both Go-Go's and The Go-Go's

and perhaps worst of all

The Alley Cats (which are two separate bands one 80's punk and one 50's Doo Wop) are both listed under the same Alley Cats, and The Alley Cats (80's Punk) are listed under The Alleycats.

I have suggested that Spotify change these listings over a year ago, and they have taken no action to make the corrections.  If you have additional track listing errors please feel free to list them.

Way out West is three seperate groups, they are currently all under the most popular electronic/trance group. The album "The Effects of the Weather" is a jazz fusion sextet and "Saddle Sore Blues" is a western "boardergrass" group.

Good question.  I think Spotify is the worst out of all the services (sorry guys) with metadata.  They don't seem particularly insterested in fixing it either.

One thing I also don't get: I've been noticing a lot of new albums will have "double" artists.  It will show the artist name twice.  Seems like it is linking... but why?? They both go to the same artist page.  For example, last week Divine Fits had this issue.  It just looks really messy and can mess up last.fm when using a device (Squeezebox) that reads the artist as Divine Fits, Divine Fits.

And another:  Slow Children is both an 80's New Wave Band, and a Ska/Punk band.  Spotify lists both as the same artist.

@JFParnell - Spotify currently does not have a way in the clients to separate artists with the same name, meaning anytime this happens the artists get merged onto a single page. There is a discussion about it over on the Ideas Exchange here. Its a really annoying issue!
