Why cant i buy a gift card?

Im from New Zealand and want to buy my friends Spotify premium for their wedding present.

When i go to the page, it says that the gift cards are unavailable in my country??

Why do you make it hard for me to give you my money for a full year of premum in advance??

Is there anyway to do this?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

It would appear that premium eCards are currently unavailable in New Zealand (as well as the US), so unfortuantely not I'm afraid.

OK, but "not available in your country" isn't a very good answer if you want to stay in business.

Furthermore - it worked at Christmas (in the US) but not in April

And further furthermore ....  yesterday I completed all the Premium account details for 122.99 at www.paynearme.com, accessible from the Spotify site, went to my nearest 711 as directed and had two credit cards and a debit card rejected.

So how can I buy a year of Premium for someone else?  Give them $122 and tell them to do it themselves isn't a very hi tech solution.

Im sure we'd all be a little bit more understanding if we new the reasons why. Otherwise it just seems CRAZY as it would be so popular.

Sam was discussing it with a few community members over on this topic. 

Unfortunately like most things in the music business the reasons appear to be a mystery for the mean time!

So here are in August 2013... and I appear to be able to pay by Paypal only. Now I should be grateful I can even pay at all true, but why still no credit card ability? Do I really have to go create and load a paypal account with credit card funds to then use that to pay for the ecard? come on!

You aren't the only one to report this, but tracking down the issue seems to be proving difficult. 

Would you be able to post a screenshot of that screen as well as your country?

Just out of interest, that appears to be an old version of Internet Explorer you are using, would it be possible to try another browser such as Firefox or Chrome?

Agreed, this is IE8 I'm using, alhtough today it's playing along nicely, it doesn't always. Attached screenshot shows the website displays the same for Firefox too.
