Why do I HAVE to use PayPal??

  • Why do I HAVE to use PayPal on my account? I am trying to update my payment method and it takes me directly to the PayPal site and won't let me select another option. I woulf prefer tonpsy Spotify directly. Why do I HAVE to use PayPal? Why is this the only option for payment. Maybe there is another option but everything leads me back to PayPal, like I am being forced to use them, and I really dont want to. Where is Spotify customer service when they are needed. Pratically non existent. They can take my money but noboby is there to help when needed? How is a company that is pursuing an IPO not have a customer service line customers can call? Yes, actually call. For actual customer service. Any remedies to this problem would be greatly appreciated, if not may have to take my business elsewhere. Please Help.

Welcome to the community, let's get to the bottom of this issue!

 

Spotify offers various payment methods other than PayPal.

 

Please try the following:

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Select Subscription in the menu on the left. 
  3. Under Payment details, click UPDATE.
  4. Choose your payment method at the top and fill in the details. 
  5. Click CHANGE PAYMENT DETAILS to confirm.

Your changes will take effect on your next payment.

 

Note: If you subscribed to Spotify through a 3rd-party (such as iTunes or your mobile provider), you’ll need to contact them to change your details.

 

If that doesn't work, try using another browser to change your payment details.
