Why does Spotify continue to STEAL credit card information?!

Why does Spotify continue to STEAL credit card information?!

I was just notified by my bank that there was a suspicious charge of on my credit card and when I looked up the details, I found that Spotify had charged me $9.99 (which I certainly did not authorize!).  I NEVER even gave you guys my credit card information, address, etc.  I only signed up with an email address and made up a password 3 days ago for a free trial!  When I looked this issue up in the wider online community, I found similar complaints and practices going back, ongoing, at least 3 years!  Please clear the air here and let us know why people are still being schemed by your company.

Hello and welcome to the Spotify Community!

But where is something wrong with this? if someone signs up for a payment he needs to pay :D. BTW. im not a spotify employee, this is my personal opinion.
But anyway, you should get in contact with the customer support by using this contact form or via Twitter @spotifycares.

When you receive the automated email that leads you back to the community or help pages, reply to it (even if it's from "no-reply") and one of the Spotify team members will get back to you as soon as possible and don't forget to check your Spam-Email's as well ;).
Spotify should answer you within the first 24 Hours.

If they don't reply to you, please write heare your Case Number so i'll lead this to the spotify team.

Have a nice day and thank you very much for you patience! 🙂

Kind regards,

Max aka. Amarro

What is a Spotify Rock Star and how do i become one?

Im not a Spotify Employee.

You're right, if I had selected a membership contract, I understand I need to pay the bill.  However, I only opted for their free service with all the ads and limitations, and to my understanding, I don't owe them any money.  That is still skirting the issue - why do they even have credit card information that I never gave them?!
