Why my Spotify account is in Chinese?.

  • I had to create another account just to get this message posted as otherwise everything is in Chinese and I have some diffulties to understand Chinese characters.

Hello @M8Markus!

 

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. That's an odd issue. Can you check your country in your Spotify account page is correct? It should show Finland (I'd recommend using a translation app to check). Also make sure you're logged in with the right account when checking that.

I am having this issue too, and my setting is showing India which is the correct country. I'm not sure if I should renew.

Hey @Rubik!

It looks to me like you might've changed your profile language.
You can try following this guide in order to change back the language settings.

The irony is it shows English in the app (mobile and desktop) but when I
visit it from the browser to renew my subscription it turns to Chinese.
Granted it's the only time I visit the site via browser, but still doesn't
do much for my confidence.

Thank you for keeping us in the loop. 

In cases when the app is showing the correct language, but not the webpage, it is usually related to the preferred locale of the webpage.

First, make sure that the preferred locale of the webpage matches your country as seen in the screenshot below. 

 

 

If the issue persists after this, include in your next response a screenshot of the page to have a better look.

Ah it does seem to divert me to a TW site even though I am in India.  So substituting that TW with IN does help. 🙂 I wonder how I can default to it though.

At first I thought it was a VPN issue, and I turned off my VPN earlier but that didn't help.
