Wrong ads language

Hello, 

This is my very first post I am getting adverts in Spanish even though my location is Australia and the country of choice in my account is Australia too. 

Can anyone help me?

Now that is strange! 

Few things to check out!:

1. Firstly, can you try a quick clean reinstallation of the client and see if that makes any difference? 

2. Are you connecting via a company network, proxy or VPN? Double check your IP address locates to Australia on http://whatismyipaddress.com/

I'm from Australia too and mine's doing the same thing as well.

I'm having the same problem too and it seems to just be an ad about the Warner Music Playlist. At least that's all I could read when I remembered to check 😛

I'm having the same problem. One of the adds is for Valladolid Latino - Warner Music Spain (InHouse)

Getting this in Australia too. The ads are all from Artist Warner Music Spain (InHouse), some of the tracks are Playlist GYM and Madcon.

I am getting spanish ads too, in NSW australia.

Getting ads more frequently as well. Most are for artists and compillations.

I am in Italy and I get ads in italian. The problem for you, Spotify, is that I don't understand italian ) I'd love to read and hear them in English, but you don't provide a possibility. So, you just waste your chance to sell me smth. Give me an option to change my country regardless of IP address.

Yes, I happen to be in Germany (sometimes) but I am an English speaker.  Spotify should know this because I have my language preference set to English.  That changed my interface to English, but the ads and the Terms of Use are still in German.  I'm okay with listening to ads in German if your advertisers want to waste their money.  But I feel a little silly clicking the stupid button that says I've read and agree to the terms of use when they're in German.  I have not read them, so I don't know if I agree to them or not.  Why even have a language preference setting if you're going to ignore it for the most important things?

Where are you viewing the terms of usage? 

If its on a Spotify webpage, you can view them in any language you like by changing the country in the bottom right of the page. For example for English check out: https://www.spotify.com/uk/legal/end-user-agreement/

Same here. I have language and set in my profile, yet while using Spotify from behind company proxy which is in Switzerland I get German & French ads only. This is pretty useless 😉

I believe it was in the Spotify iphone app.  Which I haven't actually used anyway.

Hi,

this is my first post too. I haven't been using spotify that much yet, but ever since I installed the desktop app (Mac OS 10.9) it gives me the same problem. I am a native Dutch speaker and all my settings are set tot that language. All ok, except for the ads. Those are all in French.

I don't live far from the French language (not the actual country) border though. Maybe the internetprovider has a node in a French speaking part, but I do think it is very strange.

I have no proxies or whatsoever set.
