While you are using a "free trial," Spotify will NOT charge you.
At the end of the trial (i.e. 7-days), you will be immediately charged once the end of the 7th day is passed.

You are completely able to do the following: Start your free trial, and immediately CANCEL your subscription. You will still be able to use the premium Spotify until the trial period is over (i.e. 7 days).

However, keep in mind:
Once you activate the trial period, you cannot use any other promotional offers that Spotify may have such as: $1 for a month, $1 for 3-months, and so on.
If you have not activated the trial yet, I highly recommend that you WAIT until one of these offers pops up on your device and you take it!

Offers that will not be affected by accepting the trial offer:

2. Family Plans. ($15/month)

3. Single Plans ($10/month)
