account settings: apply password for device: error no email in account

Solved!

account settings: apply password for device: error no email in account

I try to add a password for a device but it tries to send it to my emailaddress. However my email is not showing in my account. It says I can edit data in Facebook (I log in through Facebook).

I added email addresses to my Facebook but no matter what I try in Facebook it doesn't show in Spotify.

I have a Windows Phone, where the app doesn't show the devices, So it is the only way for me to connect with my Xbox One,

Thanks, your answer put me on the right track.

To find your Facebook Spotifiy user ID go to Facebook menu:

Settings / Apps / Spotify

The user id is in the paragraph "get help from App developers"

To generate a password:

go to Facebook menu:

Security and login settings / Use two factor authentication (click edit) / (click app passwords) / (click generate)

Quite well hidden by Facebook but still it should work. I say should as when I used my old iPhone to connect with Spotify on my Xbox, it found immediately the right connection and stays connected even when I don't use the iPhone anymore. So I managed to do it this way and now I can't test the other login method as the option is now not showing anymore.

Thanks a lot anyway for your help!

Hey again @Martinz7!

You're welcome, happy to hear everything is working great on your end 🙂
