account still subscribed as free even though I paid for premium

account still subscribed as free even though I paid for premium

I have been using Spotify for a while now with no problems until recently. I had changed my debit card I was using and forgot to change my payment info on Spotify.I updated the info and had the money for my membership taken out but it's still saying my subscription if free and not premium. I tried logging out and uninstalling then reinstalling the app but that didn't help.

Did you get an email receipt for your subscription purchase?

 

In it, it shows the Spotify username you paid for:

 

Username/ID:        xxxxxxx

You can login with that username to the website to check the status of your subscription here:

 

If everything looks ok, logout of the app in your device, and be sure to use that username, instead of your email address, to login to your account. It's the one with the Premium features.

 

If you didn't get any email receipt, sometimes the amount gets 'on hold' even if the charge doesn't go through. Normally the amount gets back to your bank account a day or two later.
