"Your last payment didn't work"

Okay so I used to use a debit card to pay for my Spotify but now I just purchase Spotify gift cards in order to use premium... Anyways earlier today Spotify told me my premium account is paused because "my last payment didn't work" how is this possible if I'm using a gift card to pay? I know for a fact that I should have at least two more months of premium... I'm just very angry that this is happening and I can't use my Spotify. Also why don't you guys have actual customer service?

Normally this happens when a duplicate account exists, one with a Spotify username / password and one with your Facebook details.

Did you get an email receipt for your subscription purchase? In it, it shows your Spotify username:


Username/ID:        xxxxxxx

If you see a random number, that's your actual Spotify username, which was assigned automatically to you when you created your account through Facebook. If you see it in your receipt, you need to login with your Facebook details.


To get in contact with them, you should fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.


If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.
