can i give a gift card to somone who already has premium?

My friend pays for premium, so i wanted to get a gift card for him so that he could have a few months without paying. Can you redeem them if you already pay? will it work as like a payment for one month?

Yes, that works. For example if he would need to pay again on 1.1.2013 - he redeems the code for 3 months free => his time gets updated to 1.4.2013. The gifted months are added to the current paid month.

I myself just redeemed an 1 month code a few days ago as premium user. 😉
