can't change my country - Spotify appears offline :(

Hi guys. I hope you can help me.

2 weeks ago i have registered my first spotify account. In my profile appears the country USA even though i don't remember having set it. as a matter of fact i am from Germany. Now after 2 weeks that seems to be a problem as the error message says:

"Subscription status

Your account can no longer be used from abroad, since the maximum travel time is 14 days for a Spotify Free account. To continue using Spotify from abroad, sign up for Spotify Premium which gives you unlimited travel access."

Needless to say i tried changing my country from USA to Germany, but it won't let me. It's greyed out.

I tried using a US proxy IP in order to be able to change my country to Germany, doesn't work either.

I read somewhere that i should get premium, which would allegedly give me the opportuntiy to change my country settings and i wanted to enter paypal as my payment method. Unfortunately, i always get an error, which is probably because spotify needs people to have a credit card connected with their paypal account as it seems.

In Germany it's uncommon to have credit cards.

I hope anyone knows solutionsfor my problem.

I'm having the exact same problem, the only difference is that I'm from Brasil.

@kgrcatweazel - As long as you are accessing Spotify from a German IP, you should be able to change your country to Germany (check http://whatismyipaddress.com/ ). If you are still having issues, it's worth trying a different browser to see if that makes any diffeence. 

If not get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to swap it over for you manually.

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

@gvp - Spotify is currently only available in Brazil via a partner promotion (pre-public launch). If you need your country on an existing account swapped over to take part in that promotion, get in touch as outlined above and they can do that for you.

with firefox the line to change the country still is greyed out so i followed your advice and logged in with Internet explorer and here i was able to change the country to Germany. Now Spotify works again.
