change country free account

Hi,

I'm travelling for about two and a half years now. when i got to australia two years ago,

i was unable to log into my account because of being in the wrong country.

i couldn't figure out how to change the country of my facebook account and had to get a new spotify account. that worked well until now.

now i'm in thailand for about two months and...again i can't log in. I am also unable to change the country in my spotify account, as the menu only gives me australia to select.

After these two months i will be back in australia, wich would mean that i have to change the country back to australia??

Hey there @deleramacadamia, welcome to the community!

That's not cool. Since you're on a Free account, you can use Spotify in a different country to the one registered on your account for up to 14 days when traveling abroad. After that, you’ll need to upgrade to Premium or change the country registered on your account. Keep in mind that if your account was created through Facebook, you'll need to change your country from there as well.

Hi,

as my old spotify accound was created with facebook, the one i'm using now is NOT.

I do try to change my country...but as i said, i can't.

i click on my country. a menu opens. i can select only Australia.
my current country is australia.

i want to change it to thailand.

i can't type anything, i can only select what ever the menu offers me.

i am in thailand, so my ip address should be a thai one...uness i understood something really wrong.

So...where exactly can i change my country?
"edit profile" apparently is not able to do so 😞

Hmm, that's odd. Are you using any IP address tools that mask your location? If not, have you tried changing your country from another network? Does it persist?

I was just now experiencing exactly the same problem.

Settings are Netherlands and there are no options to change them. You are not alone in this! I hope we can find an answer, if I fin one I will post it here....

Hey again @deleramacadamia!

I mean, have you tried the steps to change your country from a different internet connection? For example, if you use your cell phone data, switch to a wifi network you can connect and see if it persists. 

If that doesn't help, let me know so I can escalate this backstage for more troubleshooting ideas 🙂
