does email notification on posts work?

Solved!

does email notification on posts work?

this is a question about the community,  not the product.

Although i've indicated that i want to receive email notifications when someone replies to one of my community posts, i never receive any.

i've checked that the option is set properly and that my email address is correct and that there are no messages in my spam filter.

what am i doing wrong?

Hey @eschurr, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

To confirm, is this button checked when you're creating a new post or replying to a current post?

Hey @eschurr

OK, gotcha.

Could you try checking your spam/junk folders? Also, make sure that this option is not checked here

thank you.

There is nothing from the community in my junk/spam folders, and that option is not checked.

Hey @eschurr,

Let's check some settings first:

  • Head here to make sure that there are no relevant settings blocking you from receiving an email.
  • When heading here, the you should see a list of all threads you're subscribed to so that you can receive an email notification. If you doesn't see any listed, it would explain why you're not seeing any email notifications on them. There's should be a button saying "Manage Muted Items" - you can see if any are indeed muted and unmute if necessary.

If everything is correctly set on your account's settings, try update your Spotify account's email address to see if that does the trick and you receive any emails when someone has replied to a subscribed thread.

thank you for your help.

i checked the first link and i can't find anything that would stop me from getting emails.

i checked the second link and saw a list of the topics i subscribed to.

i went to the third link and changed my email address to a different one to see if that works.

Hey @eschurr,

Thanks for your reply.

Did changing the email address allow emails being sent?

thank you so much for continuing to help me.

no, it didn't. I don't get any email notifications.  I have to check the Community to see if anyone has replied.

Weird, and frustrating.

Update: I got a few emails to the latest address I put in, so I think this is now working. THANK YOU.
