in a right mess - forgot email address account was setup with and can't access to cancel

My 14 year old son signed up for the 30 day trial, and it seems he was able to use his bank card and a mistyped email address.  He can't remember his password so is unable to login and cancel the subscription now that it will start charging £10 a month. Password reset is useless because he doesn't remember what email address he used to sign up, and he doesn't get the reset email on any of his email addresses (so suspect he mistyped the address when signing up).

I attempted to sign up to the trial with a non-existent email address and it appears it is indeed possible to do this, I stopped at the page where it asks for bank card details.

Will he have to just go to the bank and get a new card to avoid these payments being taken?  Will Spotify likely pursue this as a debt, adding interest and charges, or will they just cancel the streaming service?

Hey @iainsoe,

If you contact support from your son's account, the support reply may probably go to the mistyped email.

Log out of the Spotify website in your browser and fill out this contact form. Someone from Spotify will be happy to help you cancel the subscription.

Make sure you are logged out of any Spotify account in your browser when using the contact form or the username and custom email field will not show up. It is important so that you can enter the information of the account you are having trouble with. If you are logged in with a different account that is not having the problem, that account info will be used and support will be confused.

You should get a reply within 24 hours. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the Community, you need to reply directly to support@spotify.com
