Howdy,

 

I signed up for Spotify a very long time ago, and at one point, my account was pretty locked down - not public/findable to others.  Those options seem to have disappeared, however, and now my husband is unable to share songs with me because the system cannot find me.  I was able to share a playlist with him, and he was able to follow me, but he can't share songs with me.  How do we rectify this?

Yessir, he does!

Weird, so when he goes to Right Click > Share and enters your Spotify username (or Facebook name if your account is connected to Facebook) you don't appear?

I'll have to double check with him, but yep, pretty sure that is what's happening.

Weird! Is your account one with a Spotify username or was it created via Facebook?

Spotify.  Like I said, I created it a long time ago.  And I swear at one point, I was able to lock it down for everyone/everything (not just a private session), but like I said, those options no longer exist!  ๐Ÿ˜•

Make sure your clients are up to date. Then in the search type "spotify:user:example", and replace example with the username you are looking for. When you're on their profile, make sure to follow them. Once you guys have both followed each other, log out and restart the Spotify client then log back in.

 

Now you guys should be set to share music by right clicking > Share... > Sent to... > enter the username > That's it ๐Ÿ™‚
