The "Discover" tab, both on the web player, and the desktop app are both showing recommendations from people I no longer follow, and are not adding recommendatons for people I have started to follow since the "Discover" tab was added. I unfollowed Spotify so it would stop recommending Rihanna to me, but it still does.
My spotify username is "b.o.o.d.l.e." and I am getting recommendations and notifications on the Discover tab from users:
spotify:user:danielgrytten
spotify:user:mrbillywhite
spotify:user:spotify
Even though I no longer follow them or any playlists they have created.
Can anybody help, or know how to make them stop, as being confronted with giant pictures of Rihanna and Wil.i.am is driving me crazier than it should.
This is an issue which has been passed over to the Spotify team for investigation.
Thanks for the details, I'll make sure to add your details to the list!

Many thanks Peter.
I did search the boards, and I searched Google for a proper bug tracker but I found nothing. Do you have a link to the relevent bug page URL handy so I can subscribe to it or something?
Thanks so much for your time.
The main topic which this was originally report on is here but a lot of the troubleshooting/testing of the bug was done in the super user area so unfortunately that information is not publically available.
If/when we get the green light this is resolved, I will try and remember to post back here (since you should already be subscribed to this topic).

Perfect, thanks for that Peter. I have subscribed to that thread as well. Thanks for sending my information over, hopefully it helps resolve the issue.
Hi boodle - About how long ago did you unfollow those profiles? How often are you seeing new stories on these users since you followed them?
Hi Meredith,
I think it was about 6 to 8 weeks ago. I don't see any "new" stories from them, just the same 3 or so now; spotify:user:mrbillywhite has followed AlunaGeorge / Will.i.am / Grimes (it says "a month ago") and spotify:user:spotify has followed Rihanna (again it says "a month ago"). The notifications concerning spotify:user:danielgrytten seem to have disappeared.
I have attached two screenshots in case they help (please note that they appear in both the app and web version).
I hope that helps. Do let me know if I can do anything else to help.
Many thanks,
ben.

Thanks very much Ben! The fact that you're not getting any new stories is good news--that's how it should work.
The main query here is when will your Discover page be refreshed then?
The older alerts on the Discover page have now stopped appearing so it seems that the answer to how long does it take irrelevent alerts to fall off the Discover page, is about 2 months.
Thanks for your help with this. I hop this information is of use to others.
Hello,
My Spotify discover has literally stopped updating, no new artisits on it, can nayone tell me how to remedy this problem. It's a real pain and I was really enjoying the discover option.
Thanks
James
Does a clean reinstallation of the app make any difference @jcg76 ?

I haven't tried that, how do I do a 'Clean re-installation', just dump in the Bin and re-download?
Sorry,
I only just saw your link, I tried to run a clean re-install but have no library folder which would contain the caches when I look for it??
But my technique did not work , trash and re-install
Have also tried doing a search for com.spotify.Client in spotlight, no such luck, any advances on that woudl really appreciate some help here. Not having the discover tool available is a real headache
Thanks
What version of OS X are you using @jcg76 ?

Can you try grabbing the console output for Spotify and see if any errors are being logged?

Does this help?
That is a message I have seen floating around, not sure it is directly related to the error we are seeing here though.
